Appended to the most recent invoice for our hire of the Guide Hall was a very important directive that I am required to share with you all.
I quote, in bold and caps, verbatim, as follows:
WILL YOU PLEASE ENSURE THAT THE FRONT DOOR IS SECURELY HOOKED BACK WHEN LEFT OPEN.
IT HAS BEEN BADLY DAMAGED BECAUSE THE WIND CAUGHT IT WHEN IT WAS LEFT OPEN AND UNFASTENED.
Normally, of course, we don't need to leave the front door open, and I do not believe that we, CFC, are culprits in this instance. Nevertheless, it is important that we comply.
Indeed, it is preferable to keep that outer door closed lest undesirable by-passers get wind of what goes on during Friday evenings. After all, we must not disturb the neighbours, must we?
So, the CFC rule becomes, "Please close the outer door behind you."
SEEMPLES!
