Being Friday the 13th of November, 2015 ...

Was it that we all knew that Paul would be occupying the chair of facilitation?
Was it because many were bereft that Sir Terry, because of infirmity, would not be presenting BBC's Children in Need programme on television?
Had Laura made of public announcement that she would be making an appearance?
Was it because of rumours that Ken and Berry might be absent?

Whatever the reason, we had a near-full house consisting of 22 bodies.
Thank you to everyone who made the effort to come out and contribute to an enjoyable evening of music and fun.

Paul sang ...

I just wanna be ...

Lynda grieved after an unfortunate encounter alongside a river somewhere in Essex ...

And think on your misfortune that you brought
with your wanton will.

Laura sang of an ephemeral bloom ...

You must leave me,
Leave me lonely.

John gave us a drunken banjo-player ...

... and something about donkeys on Brighton beach.

We visited The Green Fields of France only twice ...

...

NEXT WEEK, Friday 20th November ...

Remember that we will fund-raising in aid of Children in Need.
All takings in the subscription pot will be donated, and there will be a raffle.
Here are just a few of the highly desirable prizes on offer ...

That middle book is a reprint of The Penguin Book of English Folk Songs, first published in 1959, now with a foreword
by Martin Carthy.
Wanton Seed is another reprint of songs from the Hammond and Gardiner manuscripts. It was first published under this title by EFDSS in 1965. Most of those original copies have become seriously dilapidated by constant use.
These books are 'must-have' items for any aspiring performer of traditional English folk songs.
