Being Friday the 25th Day of November, 2016 ...

We began with a catastrophe ...

"I never knew what was inside a compact fluorescent light bulb,"
remarked Dogsbody, rubbing the impact area of his scalp.

There was repetitive musical reference to inclement weather ...

"Just look at my closely-packed isobars," warns Carol.
"WIND! RAIN! SNOW in the North!"

Roger brought us a valiant knight ...

With a shield on his arm and a lance in his hand ...

Howard sang something about a timepiece ...

Deaths were minimal, but there was one train ...

Please, Mr Conductor ...

There was a brief, successful, (albeit circuitous,) courtship ...

"Now, dearest, which side of the bed would you like?" he asks.
"The middle!" she replies.

Thank you, Berry, for looking after us all so courteously.
Thank you to everyone who came along and contributed such wonderful music, and equally to those who listened so attentively.

All is well for Friday, 2nd December
                                                         ... BE THERE!

More advance information ...

Andrew has asked me to advise you of the programme for Chichester Pickers in December ...

https://www.facebook.com/chichester.pickers

They will be meeting at The Chichester Inn in West Street, on ...

  • Thursday, 8th December and
  • Thursday 22nd December.
So, there's plenty of good music around in the City over the next few weeks.

We wish the Pickers a very happy season.

ADVANCE NOTICE ...

This year we will begin the season of overindulgence early.

ANNUAL FESTIVE GATHERING

This will be held at the usual venue on
Friday, 16th December

Doors open at 7.30pm in hopeful anticipation of beginning music at 8.00pm.
(I did write 'hopeful' didn't I?!)

This will be a free event, (no subs pot,) but there will be a raffle, so kindly contribute some tasteful prizes, and bring money to purchase raffle tickets. Proceeds will be donated to the Friends of Guiding.

The interval will be occupied by consumption of shared food.
You know what that means, don't you?
Disposable tableware will be provided.

Otherwise we will be enjoying music and songs of the seasonal variety, (although 'seasonal' is not obligatory,) and humour in good company.

We have negotiated an extension to our tenancy of the hall until midnight. Music must cease at 11.30pm, thus giving us 30 minutes to clear up. Such extension is conditional upon the fact that we will depart in complete silence!

I hope we'll see lots of our friends there.

Being Friday the 18th Day of November, 2016 ...

The Guides have been busy creating festive decorations ...

Bob proudly presents his new big guitar ...

It's called Jumbo!

Phil and Jane sang about being pushed in the river ...

"Actually," said Jane, "I was referring to The Lady of Shallott."

"Be nice to Howard," says Berry ...

He's my last friend!

Quote of the week ...
I get the urge for going, but never seem to go!
(Some of us are familiar with such physiological sensations!)

Being the eleventh day of the eleventh month ...

We remembered ...

We grieved for the loss of a legend ...

Being Friday the 4th of November, 2016 ...

We marked the eve of an anniversary by celebrating this notorious individual ...

This House of Commons cleaner
looks a lot like Ken!

There were numerous collaborations ...

Marion displayed her micro-bass ...

Regarding October, 2016 ...

Well, there was much-ado about autumn ...

Leaves that were green tumble to the ground.
There was a 460 getting up steam ...

Tony took a brief nap ...

... only sleeping!
Ken took us to extra-terrestrial realms ...

It's a hundred thousand light-years side-to-side ...

Max and Sylvia defied oblivion on a fairground attraction ...

On 21st. Berry, in the chair, regretted that we would not be able to convene for Halloween.
In anticipation he decorated his table thus ...

Indeed, it was a near-record turn-out of wonderful musicians.
Bryan brought friends ...

Thank you, Bryan.
Thank you, friends!

Now for something you all need to consider:
  • Yes, we will be meeting regularly on all Fridays throughout November.
  • In December we will be excluded from the hall on 9th.
  • We need to talk about the approaching festive season ...
  • What date would you like a party?
  • Shall we hold a raffle?
Comments welcome, or email your preference to cityfolkclub@gmail.com
