Being Friday the Twentieth Day of April, 2018 ...

Well, where were you all?!

Notwithstanding your regrettable absence; (names have been recorded in the little black book!) we got on with things as usual.

Berry shared an aerial journey ...

Up, up and away ...

Mave had a warning for young and tender maids ...

thymus vulgaris
Guard it well!

Unfortunately there was an absence of tender maids to take any notice.

Laurie brought along an usual instrument which appeared thus ...

An EWI is an electronic wind instrument.
It may be electronic, but you still have to blow it!
Yes, but it's easier to carry than the accordion.

Bryan imagined that the Battle of Trafalgar had been fought in 2017 ...

Well, Hardy, if you say it's legal ... you may kiss me!

VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE
Please remember that the cub will not be meeting on Friday, 27th April.
Normal service will resume on Friday 4th May.
Perhaps we'll kick off with this celebratory offering ...

The chorus goes thus ...

Hail! Hail! The first of May - oh,
For it is the first summer's day - oh!
Cast your cares and fears away.
Drink to the old 'oss on the first of May.

... hold your head up high ...

You need to move your feet, Ricky!

In company with Lynda we visited an Irish location ...

And taylor Quigley still lives here.

Mave declined to comment on Ken's account of a significant anniversary ...

How many men have you had?

Mave responded with an historical account of a famous protest ...

Dogsbody sang about the demise of an industry ...

. and better ships no other yard ...

Bryan imagined a beautiful lady of a certain age ...

Roger built a railroad ...

Southern Railway apologises for any inconvenience ...

Then we went round and did it all again.

Being Friday the Sixth Day of April, 2108 ...

It must be spring!

The weather outside may have been iffy.
In the Guide Hall, however ...

A good company assembled ...

... adequate to pay the rent!

There were songs of love, lost and found, and Marion wisely declined an offer of £20.00 for her favours.

Bryan soliloquised about the passage of time ...

Helen and Suzanne anticipated summer ...

... grows around the blooming heather.

Marion was uncertain about her chosen profession ...

... if I can't do that, I'll be a deep-sea diver!

While Sue knitted, Patrick indulged ...

Give me the punch ladle ...

There were dreams, fictional mining disasters, final wishes, (although no actual deaths,) something about an angry giant, a dirty mirror and we all went home with no regrets.

Meanwhile, our thoughts are with Les, who recently endured a hospital experience. We all wish you well, Les.
