Being Friday the 17th day of July, MMXV in the year anno Domini ...

Angela considered appropriate to acknowledge the Islamic festival of Eid by dressing thus ...

Ramadan is over.
You may now eat and drink
during hours of daylight.

Now, you may know that our friends, Conor and Molly, are to be married shortly.
Angela, Paul, Roger and Mick have been engaged to perform for the ceremony, so they took the opportunity to rehearse a few numbers for our entertainment ...

We heard bluebirds sing.
It sounded a lot like this ...

Ken indulged in parody, ("Ouch!") singing of this beverage in various colours ...

Dogsbody abandoned a river-crossing to undertake an illegal, yet profitable activity ...

We saw a few pheasants and we took 'em all.

Conor performed a couple of jigs ...

Indeed, many of us offered songs of a pre-nuptual theme.

Here's the happy couple ...

We wish them both well for a memorable day on Saturday, and a future full of love, harmony and happiness.

We look forward to some professional photographs of much better quality!

Other news ...
Dogsbody will be away on 24th July and 1st August.
Fear not ... the club will meet as usual.
Angela will be door-opener and I am sure she will welcome any vertically-augmented individuals to help set up.

Being Friday the 10th of July, 2015 ...

We were delighted to have Janet in our company once more, all the way from Woking.
Janet declined to have her photograph taken, but look what she brought with her ...

Paul directed operations for the evening, and began with a song of abandonment and despair.

Mave waxed lovingly about a young crew member of this type of vessel ...

Tony saw a train ...

... set the night on fire.

Angie came along with John for her first visit to us ...

They were rather good together.

Janet speculated about the relationship between the sitter for this image and a famous artist ...

There were storms, two trips to Picardy, one very naughty dog, three funerals, trilobites and ammonites, a dying monk and one bearded nun with a rather deep voice ...

We went home silently in hopes that bringing untold mysteries, another day will start.

Being Friday the third day of July, 2015 ...

In sweltering conditions we occupied the Guide Hall once more with Dogsbody as facilitator.

Twice he ventured around a stormy peninsula ...

55.9800° S, 67.2892° W.
... but, my darling, when I think of thee!

Paul and Angela performed an uplifting song ...

I saw the light ... oh, glory!

Phil exhorted us to 'hold on' ...

Lynda's offering invited the question, "How many songs are there with blackbird in the title?"

... spread your wings.

Angela assured us that there never was a mining disaster in West Virginia, but she sang a lament for the casualties thereof ...

Elayne's rendition of Polly Oliver reminded us of school days, but my school would never have entertained cross-dressing!

She dressed herself up in her dead brother's clothes!
For music/lyrics see https://youtu.be/sRZ5vqSG0zk

For some obscure reason this was followed by conversation about a dog and a clarinet ...

Enlightenment required!

Did you know that you can play this anthem on the guitar?

Well ... Phil can!

We were pleased to welcome Alison, new to our gathering.
Although she was reluctant to perform herself, we observed that her lips were moving for the joining-inny things.
If that happens again, she will certainly qualify for a badge ...

Be encouraged, Alison.
We hope you'll come again.

Then Elayne and Angela sent us home via the Queen's garden ...

Now for an informative aside ...
Colin has lost his mobile phone, so if you want to make contact with CFC, please use this land-line: 01243 574021.
Berry's response, (q.v. below in comments,) was most helpful.

Then, being 6th July, 2015, look what I found ...

  • "Where did you find it?"
  • "In the rosemary bush ... it must have fallen out of my pocket while I was watering it."
  • "Does it still work?"
  • "Yes, but Rosemary has used all my credit!"

So, mobile number 07798 517523 still receives, but that might change when my new phone arrives.

Being Friday the 26th day of June, 2015 ...

On this day in 1977 this man performed his final concert in Indianapolis ...

On this day of 2015 Bob received further pearls of wisdom from CFC's elder statesman ...

Berry then declared his continuing loyalty to the throne ...

I'm gonna make Her mine!

Dogsbody sang a song that was neither soppy nor sentimental.
Indeed, it was particularly bad as he went a-catching of talpidae ...

Elayne confessed a love of Disney ...

A rumour circulated that Phil might have been over-dosing on happy pills, or perhaps he'd just been on a pun-workshop ...
  • What's your dog's name?
  • Haemorrhoid.
  • Why do you call him that?
  • Because he's a pain in the a*se!

Ken indulged in parody from the basement ...

Mave blessed us with this home-going offering ...

It has been reliably reported that Thames Water is recycled at least
seven times through the human body before it emerges from your tap.
Is that why it is so sweet?!
