The Christmas we Get we Deserve ...

Greg Lake passed away recently.
You remember ELP, don't you?

Here are his thoughts about 'the holiday season' encapsulated in song ...

Look at the interesing commentary on YouTube.

Discuss in less than two thousand words, double-spaced and on single-sided A4 paper.

Then tear up paper, and enjoy the Christmas you all deserve!

RIP, Greg.

Being Friday the Sixteenth Day of December, 2016 ...

Being, also, the Club's FESTIVE PARTY!

Here's the Christmas Tree ...

Here is one of Angela's lovely flower arrangements ...

There was a raffle.
Here are some of the highly desirable prizes ...

There was food, but Dogsbody forgot to take a photograph!

There were many seasonal songs and there was competition to perform one of the nation's favourites ...

Jane got there first.
"I was going to sing that!" exclaimed Sylvia.
Instead of scratching out Jane's eyes, Sylvia sang about some red hair-decorations.
Bob joined in the competition: "So was I!" so he sang another winter song instead.
Les said, "But I was going to sing 'Scarlet Ribbons'!"
Eventually, the score was settled when Sylvia gave a charming rendition of 'In the Bleak Midwinter' on her instrument ...

Angela and Paul considered what might come sailing by on Christmas Day in the morning ...

Yvonne and Mike sang about a famous Dublin fishmonger ...

Mave indulged in anticipatory holiness ...

Gloria!

Howard lamented ...

There are no lights ...

Of course, given the very large attendance, there was much more music of supreme quality.

Before departing, Colin said thank you to everybody for everything.
Angela said thank you to Colin.
Somebody said thank you to Angela for saying thank you to Colin.
Lynda said thank you to Jane for operating the raffle.
Colin said thank you to Lynda for saying thank you to Jane.
Need I go on?!

Seriously now ...
I owe my very sincere thanks to everyone who throughout the year has given unfailing support, both regularly and however occasionally, to The City Folk Club.
I am privileged to count you all as friends, without whom this club could not exist.
THANK YOU!

And God bless us, everyone ...
