Latest Good News ...
We have received the following message from the Guide Hall management ...
Hello ...
I am delighted to tell you that the builders came on Friday, removed all the loose brickwork etc, and have erected a double-screen partition with insulation inside.
Therefore, should be OK for you to use on Friday evening [17th].
They are hoping to commence work as soon as they have permission from the District Council and have found all the necessary bricks etc, hopefully within the next two weeks.
We are keeping our fingers crossed that it will all run smoothly!
Regards ...
Today, (Monday,) it looks like this outside ...
I bravely ventured indoors via the back passage ...
So, we'll keep our fingers crossed too ...
Look out for further emails and updates next Thursday.
UPDATE, Thursday, 16th Feb.
Yes, all is well.
We will meet as usual tomorrow: Friday, 17th.

CANCELLATION FRIDAY 10th FEBRUARY ...
I have only just heard from the Guide Hall bookings secretary that the Guide Hall will not be suitable for our occupation tomorrow, 10th Feb.
Pat writes thus ...
The builder who surveyed the Guide Hall this afternoon has reported that the building is unsafe to use until it has been shored up.
He and his team of workmen will be at the hall all day tomorrow and Saturday to make the building safe. They will erect a partition/screen and, hopefully, the hall will be usable as it is afterwards.
Please apologise to all your members for me.
Will be in touch again soon.
So, we will just have to watch this space.

Being Friday the Third Day of February, 2107 ...
A fine evening that attracted thirteen enthusiastic souls.
Dogsbody gave account of a former wife appeared thus ...
Mike P. took us on a train journey ...
We welcomed Julian and John from the Selsey Folk and Music Club. They said rather nice things about us, and invited anyone to attend their regular gathering (is it monthly?) at The Selsey Club, Coxes Road, Selsey.
John took us on a sea voyage ...
Angela and Paul went fishing ...
Now, Mike, where did you kiss that girl?
Julian has asked us to publicise an event at the Selsey Centre ...
Phil Beer will be performing there on 1st September, 2017.
(Yes, I know, but that's a Friday!)
Then he sang about the therapeutic benefits of certain substances ...
To conclude, Peter and Tony demanded another ride ...
So, what about next Friday?
The hall appears in the same state as it was in earlier images, and we have no news as to when reparations will begin.
So, for the moment, we are optimistic.
These blogs will be updated on Thursday, and emails distributed to all our friends on the mailing list.
If in doubt, phone first - 01243 574021.

Latest News about the Guide Hall ...
I have just spoken with the Bookings Secretary for the Guide Hall.
She assures me that the Guide Hall will be suitable for our occupation tomorrow: Friday, 3rd February.
As last week, we will still be required to enter via the blue gate and negotiate the narrow passage at the side of the hall.
Please be careful when opening the patio-style doors from the inside of the main hall. There might be someone coming along in the dark!
