Calling all guitar-teachers ...

Here's an opportunity for you to share your expertise ...

One of our participants who lives in the city is looking for some tuition.
This person writes to me: "I have bought [a guitar] and my ambition is to be able to strum a few tunes."

Anyone willing to take up this challenge may contact me via chifolkinchi@gmail.com and, given your mutual permission, I will arrange for you to make contact.

By the way, we have not talked about money!

Here is my suggestion:- Because there are so many styles of guitar and different personalities too, I think this person ought to attend our club and pick out the style of guitar playing and person that they think would be best for them as a teacher.

I'm up to my ears at the mo. Perhaps Dogsbody could mug up the basics and step in?

Oh no!
Not me ...

I am still struggling to find Gmin sus 4.
Anyway, I can't do those barre-chords that seem to be so essential to virtuosity.

Have I told you about my rapidly advancing Dupuytren’s contracture that threatens all the dexterity I never had?

In the words of Beethoven's alleged illegitimate son:
"Have you heard me play?!!!"

In the words of the Maestro, himself:
"Music is a terrible thing!"

In the hands of some, and the voices of others, there is nothing to be done. Knowing your limitations is laudable, even if it is due to the ears being obstructed. For those who only know about barre chords and suspended fourths, yet cannot perform them, one feels only pity. Being an artiste means making what you do have - work! That's my music lesson for today. There will be no charge for this information. It is free at the point of delivery.
As an aside, I am driven to remark that as we have no picture of PSM, there is no way we can do other than accept his explanation of his ears. On the other hand, DSW is leaving nothing to the imagination - eh?
