Like the Ovation guitar, the hurdy-gurdy, after 5 minutes, is something you love or never want to hear again. There are a few good exponents: Felicia Dale (of Pint & Dale, Seattle, USA), and Jon Loomes of Heretique did pretty well at Sidmouth '10. About other players: I am open-minded, but, alas, form is against you.
