Being Friday the 7th of August, 2015 ...

So, where has Dogsbody been for the past fortnight?

Fortunately, his absence had not deterred attendance for the last two weeks in July.
Very many thanks to Angela, Berry, Paul and others who managed to generate sufficient funds to pay the rent.
Hard copy of song lists for 24/07 and 31/07 are in hand.

What happened on this evening?

We started with the tale of this cereal crop ...

... grew a long beard,
And so became a man.

Gerry - welcome back - gambled away his train ticket ...

... won't carry me home to the one I love.

We know that the titles of Mick's instrumental offerings can be enigmatic, so decipher this one ...

We were pleased to welcome Paul, (no, not that Paul,) and Jenny to our gathering. Here they are ...

Paul was awarded a badge for his musical performances.
Jenny was observed to be moving her lips, so she got one too!
Of course, we know that old dogs and children do actually exist. Paul assures us that this particular wine is also a reality ...

As the evening progressed other beverages were brought (metaphorically) to the table ...

... will do yer.
and ...

...and take a consolation in ...

Molly rushed in rather late.
"Have I time to do this?" she asked.
We insisted ...

Thanks, Molly.
RIP, Cilla.

By the way, most people managed to follow instructions and avoid the newly-erected scaffolding.
At the time of this publication, (Tuesday,) it's still there ...

Mind my bike!

Just look out next week.

Parking for the Guide Hall.

It has come to our attention that work is to be done on the roof of the Guide Hall shortly.
This will entail the erection of scaffolding that will occupy most of the forecourt.

So, those of you who sometimes occupy the forecourt might be obliged to find alternative parking this coming Friday, 7th August.

We have always recommended that you park in the Market Car Park, accessed from Market Road, and walk through the gap in the Eastern wall which opens into Whyke Lane ...

It's only a couple of hundred yards to walk, so we hope this temporary inconvenience will not put you off attending.

On Tuesday the Guide Hall appeared thus ...

So you have been warned!

Being Friday the 17th day of July, MMXV in the year anno Domini ...

Angela considered appropriate to acknowledge the Islamic festival of Eid by dressing thus ...

Ramadan is over.
You may now eat and drink
during hours of daylight.

Now, you may know that our friends, Conor and Molly, are to be married shortly.
Angela, Paul, Roger and Mick have been engaged to perform for the ceremony, so they took the opportunity to rehearse a few numbers for our entertainment ...

We heard bluebirds sing.
It sounded a lot like this ...

Ken indulged in parody, ("Ouch!") singing of this beverage in various colours ...

Dogsbody abandoned a river-crossing to undertake an illegal, yet profitable activity ...

We saw a few pheasants and we took 'em all.

Conor performed a couple of jigs ...

Indeed, many of us offered songs of a pre-nuptual theme.

Here's the happy couple ...

We wish them both well for a memorable day on Saturday, and a future full of love, harmony and happiness.

We look forward to some professional photographs of much better quality!

Other news ...
Dogsbody will be away on 24th July and 1st August.
Fear not ... the club will meet as usual.
Angela will be door-opener and I am sure she will welcome any vertically-augmented individuals to help set up.

Being Friday the 10th of July, 2015 ...

We were delighted to have Janet in our company once more, all the way from Woking.
Janet declined to have her photograph taken, but look what she brought with her ...

Paul directed operations for the evening, and began with a song of abandonment and despair.

Mave waxed lovingly about a young crew member of this type of vessel ...

Tony saw a train ...

... set the night on fire.

Angie came along with John for her first visit to us ...

They were rather good together.

Janet speculated about the relationship between the sitter for this image and a famous artist ...

There were storms, two trips to Picardy, one very naughty dog, three funerals, trilobites and ammonites, a dying monk and one bearded nun with a rather deep voice ...

We went home silently in hopes that bringing untold mysteries, another day will start.
